Welcome to Episode 154 of The Endless Growth Podcast!
This week, Alex and Edgar start with something simple: working from home. What begins as a reflection on the shift from office life to remote work quickly turns into a deeper conversation about motivation, social energy, and how much our environments shape the way we think and interact with others.
From there, the conversation drifts into friendships formed through work, the difference between coworkers and real friends, and how certain relationships naturally grow beyond the environments where they started. Along the way they revisit memories from gaming nights, childhood stories, and the social side of growing up in a time when hanging out could mean both playing outside and staying up late with a controller.
In the second half, the conversation moves into philosophy and perspective. Edgar shares a mindset he tries to practice daily: controlling only what you can control. Alex builds on that idea by exploring how much of life’s emotional impact comes from our interpretation of events rather than the events themselves. They discuss gratitude, mindset, and the uncomfortable realization that two people can experience the same situation and create completely different lives from it.
The episode wraps with lighter but thoughtful topics: tattoos and legacy, family traditions like cattle brands, the curiosity of exploring ancestry, and Alex’s recent effort to improve his Spanish.
As always, we appreciate y'all.
